A new relationship with mobility made possible by EC2B app and Riksbyggen sustainable housing concept

The first version of a visionary new digital mobility service from EC2B has been launched this March 2019. Early adopters have been able to download and start using the EC2B app for Iphone and Android – and the residents of Riksbyggens Brf Viva in Gothenburg are first in line. They can now access a fleet of collective mobility services that are included in their accommodation, initially bike pool from GoRide and car pool from Sunfleet. Via the EC2B app, they now also get the unique opportunity to buy public transport tickets from Västtrafik in a digital retail channel.

“We believe that you can travel more sustainably if it is easy to combine different ways of traveling. Therefore, it is fun that our tickets during the test period are available to buy together with other modes of transport in the same service. We want to be where our customers are and sometimes it is in some other app than our own, as in this case” says Marita Albrektson, project manager at Västtrafik.

Directly in the EC2B app, a digital public transport ticket is generated which is valid aboard all types of public transport vehicles at Västtrafik.

“We are very pleased that this milestone has been reached and that together with our partner Smart Resenär, we have for the first time in Sweden been able to create this digital integration with public transport” says Björn Wendle, CEO of EC2B Mobility AB.

Users also get access to GoRide’s newly developed system for handling bicycle pools directly in the EC2B app. But the EC2B service is not just the mobile app. As part of the EC2B, residents are offered a counseling meeting with a mobility expert in connection with the move in order to get personalized information on sustainable travel options that meet their particular needs, and at every move-in stage in Brf Viva, mobility evenings with introduction to mobility services are arranged. It is appreciated to be able to get help to download the app, try the electric bikes and learn to book and unlock the car pool cars.

– The EC2B service should make it easy and attractive to live without a car of its own and encourage more sustainable travel, says Björn Wendle.
