Chalmers University of Technology (Swedish: Chalmers tekniska högskola, shortened to Chalmers) is a Swedish university located in Gothenburg that focuses on research and education in technology, natural science, architecture, maritime, and other management areas. Chalmers is one of the leading universities in Sweden within technological research and education, thus including Chalmers in the project will enable stronger ties with one of the most knowledge dense parts of the city and in Western Sweden.
In this project, Chalmers will be represented by the environmental unit at the university, in charge of the environmental work of the organisation. The environmental unit participates in the development of campus, as well as coordinates work efforts, and enables a strong focus, on sustainability within education, research and operations. One of the more salient areas of responsibility for the environmental unit – relating to this project – is the ownership of Chalmers Energy Strategy, a collaboration between the university and the main property owners on plans regarding energy efficiency and energy production at campus.
